Latest News: July 10, 2024 There's been real progress on bringing our old schoolhouse back into our larger Round Mountain community, thanks to the work of Linda Hambrick, Amber Taylor and Genny Kercheville. A meeting of the Friends of Round Mountain School was held at the schoolhouse on July 6th, and was well attended by the community. You can see the minutes of that meeting on our Minutes and Agenda page.
Latest News: May 5, 2024 The Friends of Round Mountain School have been granted historical status for our schoolhouse / community center by the Texas and Travis County historical commissions. Receipt of a marker is pending, and will probably happen in the fall. The FoRMS is currently working on legal issues related to transferring responsibility for maintenance and provision of the building and center from the old (now abandoned) Charitable Trust to our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We'd like to thank Kat Howell, Linda Hambrick, Mary Cameron and Genny Kercheville for their hard work in making the historical status happen! This insures that the people and businesses responsible for the the rampant residential and commercial development in our neighborhoods won't manage to get the old schoolhouse torn down and replaced with a convenience store (or worse!).
